Mauritania: Prime Minister to limit movement of citizens
Mauritanian Prime Minister Ismail Bedda Ould Cheikh Sidiya announced Friday evening that authorities will take a decision restricting the movement of citizens between cities as part of efforts to limit the spread of the new coronavirus. The Prime Minister said in a statement broadcast by the (official) Mauritanian channel that, given the evolution of the situation, the government will soon announce a decision limiting the movement of citizens, adding that these decisions, if not taken at the appropriate time, will be useless.
He said that instructions had been given to the administration to reduce the presence of staff and keep only the staff necessary for the work. Ismael Bedda said that the Mauritanians have responded to the measures that have already been taken and are asking for more to obey and commit to the measures that will be taken in the future. Remember that several countries have recommended that their citizens travel only in case of urgent necessity and that they strictly comply with the requirements and instructions of the authorities.
